If Harveywetdog did Wikipedia

In April 2020 and in the interest of legacy I wrote a Wikipedia entry recording the thoughts and notable works of Harveywetdog. I admit I was ignorant of the rules concerning self promotion on Wikipedia and consequently my entry was correctly deleted and my account expunged from the system. As a result my original words and links were sadly lost but nevertheless here is a rewrite. Perhaps when I'm gone someone will be able to enter it onto Wikipedia as a fitting epitaph for my time on the Harveywetdog Project.

The ICO Story - all part of the conspiracy of incompetence? (Part 3)

Following on from my experiences with various ombudsman last year it now transpires that the ICO are also part of the conspiracy of incompetence

Although I was told I could expect to wait six months for a response from the ICO, I actually received an initial response on one complaint in mid January 2025. Of course it wasn’t good news. The essence of the response was that as I was asking for a transcript of a call in which a scammer had used my personal data, then it wasn’t actually my personal data under GDPR and that the company was right not to provide me with the data. Make of that what you will.

Of course I’ve appealed but I don’t hold a lot of hope but you’ve got to try, haven’t you?

I had this vision of an ICO Manager, realising how bad their KPIs were looking for January, trying to address some of the “low hanging fruit” in an attempt to pull the numbers up before month end. I assume they thought the “not your personal data under GDPR” was an easy tale to spin.

To be continued…..….…
