If Harveywetdog did Wikipedia - 15 years as an equestrian videographer

In April 2020, and in the interest of legacy, I penned a Wikipedia entry recording the thoughts and notable achievements of myself as Harveywetdog. I admit I was ignorant of the rules concerning self promotion on Wikipedia at the time; consequently my entry was unfortunately, although arguably correctly, deleted and my account expunged from the system. As a result my original words and links were sadly lost but nevertheless here is an attempt at a rewrite. Perhaps when I'm gone someone will be able to enter it onto Wikipedia on my behalf, to serve as a fitting epitaph for the exciting times I spent on the Harveywetdog Project.

International Dressage at Hartpury for Easter 2026

Due to unforeseen circumstances, British Dressage have had to make some important changes to the 2026 dressage calendar, with rescheduling required for major fixtures in early spring.

In an announcement released yesterday, British Dressage explained that Due to a change in management, Addington Equestrian have made the difficult decision to withdraw from their planned CDI and CPEDI competition in March.

To replace this, a new CDI / CPEDI fixture has been secured, with Hartpury University and College confirmed to host the first domestic international of 2026 from 30 March to 3 April.

The relocation of this event resulted in a calendar conflict with the Myerscough Premier League, originally scheduled for 31 March to 5 April 2026. Following consultation with the Myerscough team, revised dates of 11 to 15 March have been agreed, in the original Addington slot.

This adjustment not only avoids a direct clash with the rescheduled CDI / CPEDI but also maintains vital opportunities for members aiming for National Championship qualification.

British Dressage extended their grateful thanks to Phillip Cheetham and his team at Hartpury, and Kelly Thompson and the Myerscough College team, as well as all other personnel involved for their support and flexibility in rescheduling these competitions to provide the full range of opportunities for all riders affected.

Today Hartpury posted the following announcement on their website.

"Hartpury University and Hartpury College have added an additional international dressage fixture to their calendar for 2026, giving spectators an additional opportunity to enjoy high-quality dressage and para dressage competition.

Due to changes in the British Dressage spring calendar, Hartpury has stepped in to stage the first domestic international fixture of the year. The Hartpury CDI and CPEDI will take place from 30 March to 3 April 2026, providing senior, youth and para riders with high-quality international competition opportunities at a key point in the selection cycle.

This prestigious addition complements the well-established NAF Five Star Hartpury Festival of Dressage, which will continue to run in the summer (30 June – 5 July), further strengthening Hartpury’s position as a leading destination for elite dressage in the UK.

Phillip Cheetham, Hartpury Equine Director said: “We are delighted to welcome another CDI and CPEDI competition in 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support riders at a crucial point in the season, and we are already looking forward to a bumper season of international dressage at Hartpury.”

Schedule and spectator information will be released in due course."

Harveywetdog notes -

Although primarily an educational establishment, Hartpury is able to make good us of its excellent equestrian facilities out of term time for a range of prestigious equestrian events. In fact, up until a few years ago, the British Dressage Winter Championships took place at Hartpury in the Easter vacation, until it was moved to Addington. At the time of writing it is not known how the changes at Addington will impact the future of the Winter Championships which are due to take place from 15th to 19th April.
