If Harveywetdog did Wikipedia

In April 2020 and in the interest of legacy I wrote a Wikipedia entry recording the thoughts and notable works of Harveywetdog. I admit I was ignorant of the rules concerning self promotion on Wikipedia and consequently my entry was correctly deleted and my account expunged from the system. As a result my original words and links were sadly lost but nevertheless here is a rewrite. Perhaps when I'm gone someone will be able to enter it onto Wikipedia as a fitting epitaph for my time on the Harveywetdog Project.

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) has been chosen as Badminton Horse Trials’ Charity of the Year for 2022. The prestigious 5-Star event, held every year on The Duke of Beaufort’s estate in Gloucestershire, attracts top eventers from all over world – along with tens of thousands of visitors. RDA will be making the most of the opportunity to raise awareness of its work, encourage support and raise valuable funds.

Event Director Jane Tuckwell commented "We had chosen the RDA as our Charity for 2020, so we are delighted that the time has now come that we can assist with their fundraising and awareness.  We recognise the wonderful work the Charity does and I know our audience will be looking forward to supporting them during the 2022 event".

“This is a big year for RDA, as we launch exciting new plans to strengthen and grow our network and allow even more people to benefit from horses,” says RDA’s Director of Communication & Insight, Caroline Ward. “Being named Charity of the Year for Badminton is a fantastic opportunity for us to shout about what we do and encourage visitors to give their support.”

RDA has been a regular at Badminton for many years, and as Charity of the Year there will be some extra special elements for visitors to enjoy, including a display by RDA riders from the local area.

“We are grateful to the organisers for choosing us in this very special year, and look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand to find out more about the fantastic work of our volunteer groups all over the UK,” says Caroline.
